Sound not staying muted when I turn off car then turn back on
Hello all,
I'm a new member here and have searched for this answer, but cannot find it. Even the service managers at the dealership can't help.
I have a 2018 A7, have an Android phone, and use Spotify and Audible as the only apps I listen to.
When I press the volume button to mute the sound, when I turn off the car, go run errands and come back, the music comes back on as soon as the phone connects.
When I pause music then make or take a call, the music comes back on after.
Any ideas on how I can keep the sound muted when I press the volume button? That's my bigger concern as the second comment is much less of a concern
Thank you in advance!

Its an autoplay Bluetooth affect; best solution is to not keep it on 'Media' settings, put it on 'Radio' (then you can put it on Nav or whatever, but press Radio first) then mute your car.
This is not unique to Audi MM as it does it to my other cars too (on my GF's phone) as it has become a habit to her (because she listens to Audiobooks while commuting to/from work to place it on 'Radio' on whatever car she's in for that day.

It is the normal (as far as Audi is concerned) behavior. It does this from the built-in radio also.
I have enabled the "Green Engineering Menu" and played with the settings until the issue went away. Unfortunately I can't remember which change fixed the problem at the end.

There doesn't appear to be a way to stop the "auto-play" altogether, but you can use the "green engineering menu" (or, I assume, other VAG-COM interfaces/apps) to set the "maximum volume on startup" value (or something to that effect) to zero. You'll just have to get into the habit of remembering to pause whatever input you're using, as it will continue to play on mute each time you start up the car. Particularly annoying with audio books. Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing IMHO.
