I just picked up my Stasis tuned A7 from the dealer today. First thoughts are wow!! Now, I only drove it approximately 25 miles but about 20 of them were highway miles.

My service guy also said to be patient, "it takes a couple of hundred miles for the computer to re-learn your driving habits" and that I'll notice even more power then.

I was driving on the Jersey Turnpike which is notorious for "Johnny Law" so I had to be careful but I punched it a few times and was at 90 mph before I could believe it! The car has seriously more grunt now for sure.

One thing that I hope improves a bit though is the lag from punching it to response, still too much "thinking" going on before it really gets going. Obviously not turbo lag but it does kinda feel like it. To be fair, I asked if the tune would help with that and I was told "not really" from my service guy.

All in all I look forward to more time breaking in the tune and my new Eibach springs.

By the way, my service guy said the only way to get the Stasis sway bar was with the Touring package, that Stasis would NOT sell it as a stand alone item.

Also, how is engine drone in the cabin now compared to the stock exhaust?

So? Was I right? Worth it?

Too soon to tell as I only put 25 miles on the car post flash sadly. Although, I'm sure you wouldn't steer me wrong Feralc!

More informed feedback in a day or two with more miles on the A7, I'm sure it'll be great!

Thanks for all your input btw, helped turn this deal around!

Did you notice the ECU "settle in" and adjust to your driving style after getting your GIAC tune? Apparently it gets better with a little time as you and mine and Gangee's service reps pointed out.

I'd be very interested to hear your experience regarding this particular point.

Call Jack Spinella at Stasis. He'll sell you the sway bar.

When I picked up the car I wasn't wow'd. I am now. You should notice big changes at about 1/2 tank of gas.

Engine drone (you're talking about the Stasis exhaust, right?). My car feels way more peppy in Drive mode. Drive mode at low speeds was where the droning took place. That never bothered me then. But it's better now.

Driving down to Denver today, then off to the Left Coast to see the Glimmer Twins at the Staples Center tamale night!

Start Me Up!

Edit:
Mountains to DIA. 150 miles, 2 passes. 30.0 mpg. Cruise control, 70 or 79 and some construction zones.

Gangee,

How did you get the badges off, heat gun?

Answering your questions below, the Audi rep is right ONLY if you do a warranty claim that requires the Audi computer to be hooked to the car then you MIGHT be flagged (it is not certain actually nobody knows how this actually works, might be a background scan or it has to be manually initiated)
BUT if you don't need any warranty work that requires connecting the computer then you are fine.
Just tell them to not connect the Audi computer ever or ask you before doing it.

I am sorry I opened the pandora box and pushed you to make a decision you didn't want to make, but trust me you will be so happy about it, you will not regret it.
Enjoy your tune., now exhaust intake, pulley, etc etc.
Feralc,

Sorry, somehow I missed this yesterday. My guy at Bell Audi, Jonathan has been extremely helpful and patient. He basically said that the car gets hooked up to the computer every time the car comes in, even during scheduled maintenance. He says there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some flashed cars get tagged and others don't. he said he has flashed customer cars that have been in numerous time, hooked up to the computer every time and still have no TD1 tagging. He also said that he's had a handful of customers come in for scheduled maintenance and the car got immediately tagged. Apparently a mystery to all involved.

Hey, don't feel bad for the "Pandora's box" that's been opened, I love doing this stuff, been doing it to my bikes for years. If any apology is warranted it should probably be directed to my wife or to my wallet...I can see this is gonna get expensive!

Thanks again for all your thoughts and input, you've been a great help actually. Now let's talk wheels!

That is not true, the car doesn't need to be connected to the main computer every time, only when there is something wrong, routine maintenance are exempt, as I said before the Audi TSB indicates the software runs in the background automatically and not all computers can do this, unfortunately our ECUs are listed in that list of automatically running backgrounds, we have Simos 8.51. maybe the clients that are not tagged automatically don't have med17 edc17 or Simos 8.x ECUs.

Something really weird is Audi posts in the same TSB the following:
this warranty code cannot be manually added or removed
And
A warranty key must be entered manually when a vehicles fitted with aftermarket equipment.

SO???? Who knows???
I really doubt a dealer will enter a code manually and risking of losing a client for life, so as I said before nobody really knows (that is true of what the advisor told you) BUT better to be safe and ask them to never hook the computer unless they asked you first, for example I haven't upgraded the MMI to the version 566 with street view in google maps because it is a warranty claim and I'd rather not have that feature than risking my car to be flagged.
I Will wait until there is a valid ($$$) reason to have the Audi computer connected.
