Default Throttle response

I hate my car when I'm at a stop sign and press the throttle I notice a lag (delay response) it's really a bad feeling.

I had that same issue with my 2009 A6 Avant, but not with my A7. I agree that it was pretty annoying. Seemed like something in the electronic programming. Dealer said it was normal, but I never agreed.

I notice a little lag when on Comfort setting if I take off aggressively, but the issue seems to be with the tranny as much as with the thottle--there seems to be slow shift from first to second. When on Dynamic, the throttle is instantaneous and the transmission shifts at a higher RPM and also seems to shift a bit quicker.

If it is a 2013 model I have heard that is has a shutoff. When the car stops it shuts the motor down to save fuel. I can't remember what it is called but it has be written about elsewhere on the forum. My Lexus hybrid does that as well and I don't like it either but I have gotten more used to it.

It's called Stop/Start and is now standard on 2013 A6/A7. Fully defeat-able at the press of a button on the dash once and is remembered. OP has a 2012 so not an issue in this case.

I'm familiar with the start/stop feature and this is definitely not that. My A6 did not have that feature. It was just an annoying lag between throttle input and the car's response. I'm also pretty sure it was a lag in the engine's response, not the transmission. But again, my A7 does not have this problem.

I see got it. Glad to know there is a way to defeat the stop/start. I do hope that there is no lag because my TT suffered greatly from that and it really bothered me. If this happens on my A7 when I get it it will bring back bad memories. Let me know if you figure it out.

That reminds me the day I picked up my car and came to the first light.
I thought "what the hell!" my brand new car just died!
That was my first finding in the manual and stays disabled

Do you use your left foot to brake?
