Tint question

So my brother has a connection on tints, and I was wondering here are my options

I have an oolang grey A7 with titanium interior.
I have 2 tint options 30% and 17%

I can go
1. 30 All around 17 on back window
2. 30 Front side two and 17 back sides and 17 on back window
3. 17 all around

yes 25 is legal limit for front side in Texas, what do you guys think of the look options?

Keep it the same all around for uniformity otherwise it looks unbalanced.

Thats what I was thinking, should I do 17 or 30 all around?? will 17 be too dark with the color of the car.

Thanks

30 all around!

In NJ, can't tint the fronts at all :-( I'm doing 20 on the backs and hatch...

You can use a ceramic 60% tint on the front if looking for infra red and UVA/UVB protection which will keep down the heat and the troopers/police and inspection stations won't know that they're tinted given that they are frameless windows this means that you won't notice the 1/16" at the top of the window isn't tinted as it's frameless. Remember too that ceramic comes in 90% light transmission. If just looking for looks only then just stay with the metal tint or a ceramic if they go that low ( have only seen 40% for ceramic).

If wanting to stay legal, remember to factor the approximate 93% light transmission "tint" already embedded from the factory to the total result. For example, if legal is 35% (as here in MA) you would want to use 40% after market tint to stay above 35% net (in this case roughly 40% x 93% = 37% (the calculation is not additive but is the percentage of one multiplied by the other).

I decided to go 17% on the tints, I know it is dark, but I just got my inspection, and I am willing to risk it for a bit....

I bought the car used, so I guess I can always just claim it was "pretinted"

I don't doubt that will happen...but most of the people who I have met with dark tints say that they only write on cars with limo and 5 percent the difference between 17 and 25 (legal) is harder to tell... crossing my fingers

Yup. Been there, done that. Also, in MA, unless you have a friendly inspection station willing to not test the tint with a meter and risk a fine, you won't even pass inspection until it's redone to the legal amount.
