Used 2018 A7
I am currently kicking the tires on a 2018 a7. It is fairly well optioned, has 85000 miles, it is a single owner car. All scheduled maintenance and oil changes were performed by Audi. Curently the price is about $19,000 USD. I took it for an independent inspection and the guy said it had the following issues: It was leaking coolant and he said the pump and thermostat should be replaced. (FWIW. - he said you could top up the coolant if you wanted to, it was not a critical problem) The passenger side engine mount was also leaking. He is currently working on a quote for me to fix these things. He said otherwise the car was in excellent condition, no codes were being thrown, and no rust underneath the car.
Do you guys think this is worth buying? Or is this going to blow up in my face?
My 2013 is at 207,000 miles and going strong. There will be things to fix as you go - like the water pump, thermostat, engine mounts...maybe a carbon cleaning, but a well maintained A7 is not likely to blow up on you. The 2018 has the Gen 2 engine, which some guys don't like very much; I think they are more prone to carbon build-up (can someone chime in)?
I ended up buying it !
Dealership photo for now - but she is a clean beauty
Taking her for an oil change as soon as I get her as she was due and the dealership wouldnt budge on that - claiming they lost money on the car blah blah(non audi dealer). Price without sales tax was $16770 USD.
