Default VAG-COM Help Needed Please!! Might Pay YOU For Tutorial!!

Hey everyone.

I have seen some cool VAG-COM mods on a7s i would like to do to mine but i have a couple issues. For 1 i have NO IDEA what i am doing or how to do it.

Also #2 is am i correct in saying the software from ross tech to do it only works with PC? I only have a macbook laptop no PC laptop.

Does anyone know of shops i could go to & pay the people to do the mods for me? Or would anyone here be interested in recording a YouTube video showing how to do the ones i want if i paid you $75 for your trouble & time via PayPal?

I could only do the pay you thing if the software will work for MAC as well though as i do not have a PC.

Please any comments are welcome.

Thanks!

There are plenty of YouTube videos out already showing how to Vag a car. I am sure you will be able to get the hang of it no time with them. Also the Vag com website will let you know if it works with MAC.

RossTech, maker of the VCDS cable and software only makes the software compatible for Wondows. You can use it on a Mac only if you have a PC emulator like Parallels loaded.

The best way to get started is to do a global forum search for Vag-Com (VCDS) mods - there are plenty of threads for beginners.

I looked on youtube. They do not specifically show me with a A7 where to find & how to enable the options i want & each car in the software looks & says different things.

Default VCDS Mods

I perform Vag-Com Mods all the time... I have only had one A7 at the shop so far, so I have no experience with modding that vehicle with VCDS. Shop is in NJ if you need help.

I'd rather travel and/or pay someone who knows what they're doing, than attempt to DIY and screw something up... thus costing you more in the long run, or screwing yourself out of a warranty.

There are about 15 or so popular Vag-Com mods that have been available and performed by Audi owners for years that are easy to do, will not void the warrnty and, if directions are followed, will not screw up the car. Note that most mods published since 2009 on the B8 A4/S4/A5/S5 and C7 A6/S6 will work just fine on the A7. The hardest thing of VCDS mods is parting with the $350 for the cable but after that, you don't have to be a computer programmer to make changes like operating the windows and sunroof from the keyfob, adjusting the DRL brightness with headlights on, video in motion, compensating for the car's mpg error and several others. Most mods are done in the software with a simple check box or changing a value. All of these are fully documneted and can be found with a Google search. Search the AW Forums and you'll find links to full lists with how-tos.

Noted - It amazes me that Audi would withhold these goodies from buyers... Really makes no sense seeing that other manufactures offer them from the factory. Maybe it's all in the allure of attracting buyers w/ the potential of the vehicle.
