My tires are still brand new. i could go with the 10.5/265 set up for now and I could swap them with 285 once they are worn out?

I've been using Armorall Wheel Protectant and it seems to be holding up really well to me. I haven't had brake dust accumulation for over three weeks and I drive about 40miles+ everyday.

Try it, it's really effective.

I have the Michellin pilot super sports and whomever tells you that 265s work on a 10.5 is flatout wrong. The stretch you will get on the sidewall will make that car look too ganster. You guys just spent $70K on the car, do the car justice and dont go the cheap route. I saved my OEM 20 wheels and tires when I put my CV3s and new tires on. When you are ready to sell the car, put the originals back on as you may have a harder time selling the car with the aftermarket wheels as someone may not have the same taste as you. Just one man's humble opinion.......

Agreed. Ill keep the OEM aside and that'll definitely help in the resale value of the car.

What was the brand of the 265/35 tire that you had that looked too gangster? Because the Michelins PSS is what you have right now.
The tire in this link is a 255/30r20 with a 10.5 wheel and even though it looks stretched it doesn't look too "fast and furious" and the 255 is narrower than 265.

An extra centimeter will look better and that is what you get in the 265s.

I measured a 265/35r20 yokohamas that I have spare and the inner part where the wheel sits is exactly 9.5 inches wide, the original wheel is 9 inches wide, the tire mounted looks like you have an extra centimeter on each side to have a square look so you have 2 CMS total and 1.5 inches is 3.81 CMS, so the stretch will be around 1.81 total, less than 1 cm each side. Doesn't look "on paper" too crazy for me.

Now most people think (I am not saying you are one of them and neither I am debating with you I just want to learn from your experience) that if a 275/30r20 looked stretched on a10.5 wheel then a 265/35r20 will be even more stretched, and it sounds logical to me, BUT oddly (because of the shorter sidewall) the 275/30 limit is 10 inches and the 265/35 is 10.5 inches.
(Look at the yokohamas chart)
and also the 285/30r20 which is the perfect fit for the 10.5 wheel has the same range limit than the 265/35r20 (10.5)

My guess is different brand tires in the same size will have a different wheel recommendation range or they will look more or less stretched and it all depends in how they were manufactured and how soft or hard they are.
