Default Where to use jack stands on 2012 Audi A7

Greetings everyone. I just ordered some new front rotors and pads for our 2012 Audi A7. Last week I lifted the car to remove the wheels so I could remove some of the caked on brake dust and there is a small compartment that you remove so you can attach the jack. For safety reasons I will use dedicate jack stands but I could not find a place under the chassis to place them. There are a lot of felt like panels which I assume are there for noise reduction. I goggled it and also looked at some YouTube videos with no luck.

Thanks in advance and any information is appreciated.

I was confused at first also. They are rubberised 'handles' where the jack stand goes.
See this image of an A6 (which has the same jack point stands as '11-17 A7)

Thanks for your reply. I will have to put the jack stand as far to the side of the plastic retainer as possible so as the car is lifted I can insert a jack stand for extra security. Ideally I would like to have the car lifted at the same time in both sides and secured with jack stands in case I need to turn the wheel to facilitate the repair. I ALWAYS put either a small 2 x 4 on each rear wheel or a small paver to make absolutely sure that the car won't move or fall. OUCH!! Cheers

Buy one of these...you will thank me later!

The jack pad adapter and the lug bolt guide from the same company are hands down the two best things I have ever purchased for this car.

Thanks so much for you reply and link. I was able to make it work using the car jack and I have brand new front Zimmerman rotors and Akebono pads. LOVE THEM!!! The rear ones are next and will purchase a scan tool to release the electro mechanical brakes. Cheers.

Those recessed areas are jacking points, not really for jack stands. Where exactly did you put the jack stands when you jacked up the car using those points?

I was actually able to just used the car jack and did one wheel at the time. However I did try to use a jack very close to the wheel wheel and found a spot which was strong enough to support it without causing any further damage.

I never trust just a jack if I am working on a car. If it is simply changing a tire I will use a jack but any work beyond that I will always use a stand.

That being said, I am a new owner of a used Audi and still trying to figure out the best choice for a jack stand to be placed

I agree with you Valpo A7. also have a 2008 Audi A6 Avant and there are lots of places where to put a stand.

I've also been curious how to use jack stands on my S7. Jack spot is easy enough but finding a secure spot for the stand is definitely not obvious on these cars.
