"clicking" in neutral with foot on brake
I've been trying to figure out what the noise has been coming from my front brakes for about two months now.
Today, I rebuilt my calipers and flushed the fluid. When I put the car in drive, I hear a "pop" and then it goes away. Seems to brought on by going in reverse first. I thought maybe a caliper was hanging up. I did have a ripped dust boot and some rust on the piston so I figured I would rebuild the calipers anyway.
While testing, I noticed that with the car in neutral, I feel (on the shifter) and hear a loud "click" everytime I tap the brake pedal. Is this normal ? I assume it's part of the brake/park interrupt system but never noticed it before. I don't know that I've ever been tapping the brake pedal with my hand on the shifter, in neutral either though.
Rebuilding the calipers ? If you can do brakes, you can rebuild calipers. I didn't have my digital camera but I can do a write up if anyone needs it.
