Default 1995 Audi A8 HID/Xenon headlight

Hello.

It's my first post in this forum.

I have a 1995 Audi A8 with HID/Xenox headlights. It is not a Bi-Xenon. It's a regutar single Xenon.

Last week, the left side bulb started to flash several times before getting steady solid light.

Questions:
a) Do anyone know what is the problem?
b) I need instructions to fix it (assembly/disassembly photos, if possible)
c) Do anyone know what kind if bulb is used in this car? The manual just say to look for an Audi dealer to get it fixed. It does not say what kind of bulb is used there.

Thanks a lot!

You can swap the bulbs left to right. If it flickers on the other side then just need a pair of bulb. If the problem stays on the same side then swap the igniters,----then the ballast. You will find the faulty part. '95 is still the D1 right?

Default D2

Hi TozoM8.

Thanks for the reply.

My car is a D2.

Do you have any instructions (photos) of how to do it?

Thanks again.

Default I don't, but it is fairly simple. Pop the back covers off,

unplug the connectors unlock the bulbs and swap them.

TozoM8 is correct, but also Do not touch the bulbs with your bare fingers. The oil on your skin will get on the bulb and create a hot spot that will burn out the bulb for sure. If you do touch it then clean with rubbing alcohol and a tissue.

Default I am guessing they haven't been changed for a long time so I would replace both bulbs

Just to get a nicer new look with no color difference. You need D2s bulbs
