1997 A8 Quattro stalling
Just an update for you all on my previous problem:-
I took off the Idle Stability Valve, and doused it in Brake Cleaner, and sprayed Carb cleaner down the two holes left in the body.
Some crap came out, and I put it back together. Started up (two attempts and a bit of throttle on the second one) and all seems OK, still a bit low on idle, so I will try it again.
Many thanks to PW.

Wow, that would be great if it fixed your stalling problem
Was it hard to remove? How long did it take? The rear breather hoses are on the back of the motor, wonder if it's a lot easier to get to them with the ISV removed.

We had an issue with that in the 12 valve forum...

Hi, I need to replace my rear hoses too. Removeingthe ISV did not give me that much more room, as the assembly that the ISV sits on is still there.
I will have a look in the ETKA bit to see where that comes off.
The ISV bit took less than 1 hr. Very easy job. Will do it again though, as I hurried it as I had to pick up my little girl from a party.
Regards
