1998 A8 Injectors
I contacted C&C Fuel Injection in Reno, Nevada.
The tested my 1998 fuel injectors Bosch #0280 150 508.
They advised me that the injector in question is a"air Assisted" for idle quality. That is why it has a vacuum line coming off the side going to the intake manifold vacuum source.
My injectors tested at 18 lbs/hr at 40 psi. They stated the these injectors would put out 22.4 lbs/hr at 62.5 psi.
They also said that they can provide me with a set of injectors with the same air assist feature(to improve idle and ultimately smog) that the stock injectors have.
I am looking for an injector output of approximately 24 to 25 lbs/hr to match the performance potential of my heads and camshaft, so I am going to see what they can put together.
Does anyone have a used #1280 150 508 injector for sale that I can send to them?

But you're not changing the ECU
I guess if in closed loop, the ECU might be able to correct the firing timing to keep the air fuel mixture correct.....is that what you are hoping happens?
Do you know if the A8 ECU ever goes open loop or does it always stay closed loop?

Re: What injectors does the S8 use? Can you use them?
I have a set of 1998 S8 injectors. But they are of a single spray pattern design. The A8 uses a dual spray pattern for better atomizaion and emissions.
If I use the S8 injector, I eliminate the air assist feature and I have to machine adaptors for the intake manifold because the part that seats on the intake manifold including the o-ring seal is a smaller diameter than the A8 injector.
I have not checked out the five valve S8 injector but that is a definite possibility
The ECU remains "closed Loop" Although I am using a modified ECU. The only way to fine tune the entire system is on a Dyno which I might do in the future.

Re: Do you have a picture of the injector set up that you can upload to your picture poster?
I took pictures of the injectors on the fuel rail but cant find the digital card. I'll keep looking.

Re: How popular is this vacuum feature? I have never heard of that before.
I can only repeat what I was told by C&C Fuel injection. They told me that this is not a common feature on injectors. They said that they can add the feature on a set of increased output injectors that they provide to me so that they will have the same feature as the stock injector but with increased output.
The vacuum feature on the injector is for idle stabilization and improved emissions.

How much for a set of injectors?
As I look into the supercharger mod....don't think a rising rate fuel pressure regulator with stock injectors is gonna do the trick.
How much is a set of these 24 lb/hr injectors? With that size, maybe a stock ECU and rising rate fuel pressure regulator would work.
I would be interested in knowing how your car reacts with larger injectors and no other changes.
