2000 AKB frozen intake manifold actuactors
One is stuck in the relaxed position, held by the spring against the stop, the other is cranked over in pretty much the "full suck" position. They are frozen solid, s-o-l-i-d. and solvent and light tapping and twisting will not budge them at all. Guess I have a dual torque engine for now. It runs OK for commuting at 35 mph.
What is the nature of the mechanism inside the doghouse and do I need anything to R and R it other than two gaskets and 16 injector o-rings? I'm curious what the failure mode would be and what it takes to fix it. Has anyone done this? Pics? Autohause AZ has gaskets for a few bucks.
Do the rear breather hoses rot on the 5 valve? 100K on them.
Presumably (I hope) the manifold does not incorporate coolant passages.
My Bentley is out of action since I changed computers but the allens are abt 15 ft/lbs, I guess, and I assume you roll them out from the center as far as sequence goes.
