2001 A8L Daytime Instrument Cluster Dark
 

Anyone experience this problem or have a fix-it suggestion for my 107K mi. A8L ???... For the last 10K mi. I've been dealing with my instrument cluster being dark, unless I turn on my headlights. The +/- buttons won't change the brightness. When testing with a Ross-Tech, the cluster will light with the headlights off. I've sent the cluster to BBA Reman and they claim No Fault Found. I found a used cluster in a junk yard and it also will not light unless the headlights are on. I learned there is a sensor in the rear view mirror that controls the instrument cluster illumination (many other posts on the AudiWorld forum about issues with this), but when swapping the rear view mirror with one from a junkyard, I still have the same problem with no daytime illumination in the instrument cluster. Very frustrating because everything else works on this awesome car!
