Default A 8 Battery

Anyone have feel for average battery life on an A 8 (2001), and best place to get a replacement battery?

Thanks,
David

Default I've heard 3 -4 years is average

I saw one at Walmart for 68.00USD last week! The right form but didn't seem to be vented.

Or spend around $100 and get a decent battery at Autozone with the proper vents.

Lots of other places have them too. Interstate does.

And some people have put in Optimas.

But it depends what country you are in.

Default Unfortunately Auto zone don't have any brand battery. I went with DieHard from Sears

and they are excellent.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02833341000P?mv=rr">http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02833341000P?mv=rr</a</li></ul>

Default Be aware, might be different sizes

I just got a replacement for my original battery the other day, in it's 7th year. Guys at the dealer had doubt to what size I was supposed to have, different books said different things. I didn't drive the 8 at the time, so they sent me along with a 100 Ah battery listet as the right one in the most updated book.

Back home, I took out the old one and found out it was a 110 Ah unit, about two inches wider than the one I got. So I had to go back and switch.

Looking in ETKA, I find two different equipment codes for batteries. One for a 92 Ah, and one for a 110 Ah. Du to different physical size, I guess you need to get the right one for your car. Or there might be brackets to hold the smaller 92 Ah in place, I don't know. I couldn't use the smaller one in my car anyway.

Default My energizer lasted almost 4 years and was still working when

I replaced it with a Bosch from pep boys.

Didn't want to be stranded in the middle of winter.

Default Interstate has a direct replacement

I'm 2 years in on my second one (1st one failed under warranty at 3 years). About $110 IIRC.

Default I love Interstate for replacement batteries.

My 911 gets minimal use and the Interstate in it has lasted 6 years now (and still going).
