Mine looks like this... I'm missing the grills huh?
This is not my car, but this is exactly what mine looks like in front, except mine's black. I think I am missing those side grills just like in this pic...unless some A8s came without them? It's supposed to look like yours huh?

Yes sir. This is a very common problem. In fact
I used a drywall screw on each one to prevent them from falling off. They are quite overpriced by the way.
Also, how is your fuel pump and/or fuel delivery fix working out so far?

yup, screwed them in on my S6 too. Fuel pump runs great... no further problems...
I think it had a minor clog. After I forced it to run for 3or 4 seconds... it cleared itself out. Now it runs on the normal fuse and I haven't had any problem since. I wonder how many have gone to the dealer with a similar problem and got sold a new pump and lots of labor? I just hate to replace parts if I can help it. Although, I keep some wire-jumping supplies in the trunk now just in case my fuel pump goes out.
I even disassembled my HVAC blower fan (after it died) and cleaned out all the carbon from the brushes, polished the copper commutator, and re-assembled it -- Works great now, and doesn't fade when I turn corners.
I was forced, however, to replace the master cylinder after accidentally pouring PS fluid into the brake reserviour. :-/ Usually PS fluid is in a different shaped bottle...I just happened to have bought some Audi fluid that came in a short wide container exactly the size of the brake fluid that was next to it on my shelf. oops.
So ya... the fuel pump is holding up.
thanks for the pic. I'm going to look for the grill pieces used.

You're welcome, I'm glad you
got the fuel pump worked out. I'm gonna have to remember that trick as I'm sure countless poor souls had the dealers just replace the unit. And I can see the confusion with the PS and brake fluid. Those cans are indeed the same size! I will have to look whether it's green or blue as I have them side by side in my cabinet. :-P
