Hi Guys.
Looks like my left front bearing is going bad on my 99A8.

Humming noise that intensifies during a turn. (I think these are common signs).

SO I looked on eBay and found a guy who is selling these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2477643828
Part number is: 441 407 625 A.

When I called Audi. They said that that number was invalid and the correct number is 4b0498625 A. But they did say that this is a kit. (Bolts and greese are included.

Someone else said that bearing kit with this part number: will work: 8D0 498 625 A

Note how close it is to the correct dealer number.

Please let me know what part number is valid or if all 3 are valid for 99 audi a8.

ETKA says 8D0 498 625 B is the correct kit. The "A" could be an earlier version that MIGHT work.

This one is is what dealer gave me. Now i am really confused!

for the bearing alone:

for model year 99 euro, 4d0 498 625a is correct up to vin 4dx005500, after that you need the 8d0 498 625c part (unless you have the v8 tdi, or 20" wheels).

for model year 99 usa, 4d0 498 625a is correct from vin 4dt007001.

8D0498625b is a repair kit.
