I own a 98A8 and have been trying to locate non-dealer service in South Orange County, CA. I can't get the two local dealer service depts. to even return a call. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Also have a minor oil leak and can smell burning oil through vents occasionally.

Can't help you with your service question but find it interesting how many Audis have oil seal/gasket problems. My A84.2 has gone through a set of valve cover gaskets along with (2) other engine/transmission seals - all under 30K and my A42.8 has gone through (2) sets of valve cover gaskets (although I believe one set was faulty due to incorrect installation) - under 45K.

I've been happy with both cars but the thought of replacing seals every 30k or so isn't right. Hopefully the replacement gaskets and seals will perform much better.

Good luck with your search and hope you get your leaks plugged soon - all of that oil/fluid leaking/spraying can create problems down the road with other components in and around the engine compartment and undercarriage.
