A8 Overheats, A/C failing intermitently
I have a 2000 Audi A8 w/ ~140k miles. It is now overheating on occasion, for example when stuck in traffic. When moving >25 mph it never overheats.
recently replaced serpentine belt, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, temp sensor.
A/C -- when idling at full stop (e.g. in a parking lot), the air stops blowing as cold, and within a minute, the air is completely warm...absolutely no A/C. Freon has been replaced, with dye, and no leaks detected.
As soon as I get moving again, the A/C turns cold.
I'm thinking these two issues are combined -- possibly the secondary fan is not working and/or the fan clutch is not working?
