Don't know....but anything off a 5K, 200, TT, A4, A6 and A8 will work
Here's some stock pads I got from Audi:

Is it okay to replace just the pads on the rear without running into problems, or is that not a good idea?
I know it's recommended that one replace the rototrs every time they replace the pads, Also, the rotors are pretty cheap, I think it only adds another $100 in parts to the job and very little extra labor.
What's your opinion on just swapping the pads?

hotter i'd guess
the older models had a greater front weight distribution than the a8, so i would expect that they ran a hotter rear compound (less braking from the rear required). the a8 compound i would expect to be colder.

Re: pads-only is ok, but
Do you have a particular thickness I should be actually measuring for is that left up to your mechaninc based on feel and look?
I do some things myself but not this one. Of course the mechanics are alway wanting you to go the extra mile and in some cases it makes a lot of sense and in others it doesn't.

7mm including backing plate is the limit
- they are 17mm when new.
always replace pads together, and skim rotors if the lip is noticeable. 20mm is the wear limit of the rotors.
