A8/SA8 Phone integration
Hi all,
Well, traded in my 04 A8L for an 03 S8. Car is mint, cerified and has 20,000 miles in it. Less room and gadgets obviously, buy faster and more agile no doubt.
Questions about phones. The car has the V60 setup, less the phone.
1. I have a TREO 650. I can get the connector pin schematic - does it make sense to try to match it up to the connector for the V60?
2. V60 GSMs are a dime a dozen. It may make more sense to just get one, leave it in the car, and move the sim card when I want to (or just get another sim). Does the setup in the car work with the GSM vesrion of the phone?
Thanks, as usual!
Wayne

You might want to install Parrot BlueTooth for your Treo.

If you do not use Verizon Wireless for your cell phone, then you should be fine.
Verizon disables almost all BlueTooth functionality in their phones, then sells you back the lost functions as "upper tier" services. I swear Verizon is the most evil money-grubbing bastard company I've ever dealt with.
Anyway, another option is a stand-alone Bluetooth pod, like Motorola makes. You can clip it to the sun visor. It's quite small .. I included a photo of one.
Last option .. a lightweight BlueTooth ear piece.
