Default A8 for sale - NAV CD Theft

Okay, hopefully that $%#&^ that just test drove my A8 and removed my nav disk is reading this. You're a bonehead!

I returned from a 2 hour trip using the navigation system, the guy showed up 15 minutes later and test drove it. 45 minutes after he left, I was going to head to an unfamiliar address and got a disk error when I activated the nav. Went back and looked, CD IS GONE!

The license plate he had on his car came back "not on file" according to the police.

Fortuately, I have a spare from 2001 I can use, but I learned my lesson.

http://audi.pseconds.com</a

Oouch! It takes a lot of nerve doing that. Obviously the guy had a use for the disk and just found an easy way to get a free one. That just sucks!

Default You are too kind!

I would call him something stronger than bone head! This heist took some premeditation. Bet the perp called his Audi dealer for it and didn't like their price. If he was rude about it, mebby the parts guy will remember! I'd call the most local dealers and ask if anyone wanted to purchase a nav disk recently and didn't follow through. You might get lucky. Then "nav" over to his house and set him straight!

In my opinion, letting any legit looking stranger drive a flagship car is a risk. Even with our A8s going for cheap money, you want to double check insurance cover pages if there is an accident. These cars are not cheap at the body shop , esp. if it's out of ur own pocket.
