Anyone have issues with vibration with Conti xtream contact
I just put on 255/40/18, and have a low speed, and high speed vibration. I had the wheels road force, and rim run out tested, no problems.
Local dealer said that Audi and MB's have had issues with wider/taller conti extreams.

Make sure it is the right size because I...
had them on my rims and went round and round for months, even made them put a different set of new tires and still vibration. It was only after we made a last ditch effort & ordered the next size up in hub rings. I will check my ring size and post later today.

Other forums have discussed this. The conclusion was flat-spotting due to sitting 24hrs or more.
I can't recall which forums I've seen this in, but at least one of them was on AudiWorld. The conclusions were that ContiExtremeContacts will flatspot, temporarily, if the car sits for a while (24-hours or more), if the tire pressures are low. But the problem goes away if the tires were driven on for a couple hours.
Some people were reporting the problem even though they claim they had proper tire pressures. I suspect that those folks didn't really have "proper" tire pressures. Its possible that the ContiExtremeContacts need more tire pressure than other tires of that size with which you are familiar. As an example, the Dunlop SP5000 (which I have on a Subaru) needs all of the sidewall-listed max pressure of 51psi in order to avoid sidewall rollover. Most people are afraid to put in the max tire pressure, and instead go with the mfr recommendation placard on the car. When doing that, the pressures are often way too low.
Are your tire pressures set to the max listed on the sidewall?
If you haven't tried that, give that a try, and then see if you still have the problem.
