Anyone have a photo of brackets for Group 49/H8 battery? (shorter battery length)
My 2003 S8 has brackets for a Group size 95R/H9 battery (referred to by Audi as "520A" in its parts diagrams), but had a smaller Group size 49/H8 battery put in by a repair shop.
From what I can tell, later D2s that have the PR code J1G came with a 450A battery, which is the smaller Group 49/H8 size. Group 95R/H9 batteries are 390-394mm long, and fill the battery well. Group 49/H8 batteries are 350-353mm long, so about two inches shorter than the length of the battery well. I'm trying to figure out what brackets work with the smaller battery size. Can anyone post a picture of what the brackets look like that hold a Group 49/H8 battery in place? Current Audi Battery Part numbers: Group size 49/H8 battery: 000915105CE 12v 92Ah 520A DIN - 860A EN/SAE measures 350mm x 175mm x 190mm aka: EN group size L5, UK group size 19 (or 019) Group size 95R/H9 battery: 000915105DLDSP 12v 110Ah 520A DIN - 850A EN/SAE/GS measures 390mm x 175mm x 190mm aka: EN group size L6, UK group size 20 (or 020) Note that Audi does not put the Group size info on their batteries, and does not publish the dimensions. I measured these at an Audi dealer parts counter. |
