Armrest phone cradle removal?
Hey D2 Owners,
I would like to remove the phone cradle from the front passenger's armrest. I am sure other D2 owners have done this.
What is the best way to get the phone cradle out?

The sides of the armrest pop (pry) off, with 3 connections. Then you see 2 small torx bolts holding the compartment in on each side.

Check! Sides popped off.
Check! Small torx screws removed.
Now what? LOL
It's like there are shafts going across the armrest that the cell phone cradle pivots on, but in your photo, it appears they are not shafts, just short tabs?
Did you compress the arms to remove them?
The fuzzy liner is loose, but not coming out without the cradle being removed.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/advice/tips.

The phone cradle does pivot on two shafts (gold-ish color); where you see the tabs.
Make sure to remove all screws. There are either 4 or 6 small screws total. With 2 or 3 on both sides of the armrest. Your phone jack in the armrest might be holding the liner from coming out or the phone release tab could be causing the hang up.
If you have done the above, the liner should come out pretty easy.
To remove the shafts, use a plier to pull them out.

I was being too gentle.
I went back out, and pulled up on the phone cradle, not just the sides of the felt lined insert, and it moved, then popped loose.
I unclipped the phone jack, removed the pins, then put the front one back in to hold the release pivot in place, even though it does nothing now. (Did not want it loose, or a rattle.)
What is the deal at the back with the long connecting arm? I guess it used to release the arm when you opened the phone, or locked it in place when the phone was deployed out? I put it back in place, but I don't think it does anything, but it's made to not rattle, so that's my only concern.
to solve the open slots in the liner, I cut some thin closed cell foam you use to line tool boxes to keep them from slipping and making noise. It fits nice and tight, and stays in place, yet can be pulled out easy to clean the storage pocket, but covers the holes so nothing falls into them/through them. I keep my sun glasses in there, and the garage door opener. (yes, I have the home link, but have never programmed it... loL)
