Default audi certified

Someone told me that if I bought his (used) A8 with under 50,000 miles and still under Audi warranty, that I could have audi inspect it, and could pay to have Audi cover it under their "certified" program. Any truth to this?

Default Correct

Audi's "Pure Protection" is available in several flavors, but it's relatively pricey.

Audi Pure Protection

Default Is Pure Protection really the same as Audi Assured?? My 4 year warranty expires in January. The car

is also Audi Assured for another two years. I was thinking of getting an extended warranty to cover it after assured is over. There would be some overlap in coverage, but wonder if it is a good idea. Comments?? Recommendations for extended warranty carrier?

Default Would like to know the same....

My warranty is up in February. Don't know if my dealer is a participating dealer in the Pure Protection plan. When I mentioned extended warranties, they refused to talk about Audi Assured and offered my a 3r party warranty, saying it was just as good or better.

Sounded funny to me.

Default Not sure but ...

My impression was that "Audi Assured" is a dealer option on used car sales only; it is not an extended warranty offered to owners.

Until "Pure Protection" become available, dealers were on their own and offered 3rd party extended warranties from various companies. Pure Protection keeps the whole thing in house, but not all dealers are participating. Some offer a choice of either Pure Protection or a 3rd party extended warranty.

Default Thus Pure Protection is an Audi dealer only policy, while 3rd party extended warranties are

good at any repair shop...correct? My understanding is that one can get Audi Assured for a used car purchase, even if not bought at the dealer, by payingthe Audi dealer for the inspection and the insurance costs, about $1500-2000.
