Default Best kit for lowering A8?

I'm considering lowering my A8 by around 1 to 1.5 inches. I see several kits on the market, but would like to hear opinions as to the best one to get. Also how much can I expect the ride quality to change? Thanks in advance for all your inputs.

Default Eibach Pro-kit and Bilstein Sports best bang for the buck

IMHO.

I recently lowered my 98 A8 with this combination and am very pleased with the results.

Ride quality was not radically altered. There is a difference, but to me it's very livable. Handling is significantly improved and nose dive on hard braking greatly diminished.

A lot of folks on this board have also gone the coilover route. You can better fine tune the setup with coilovers, but you're also looking at about twice the cost of the Eibach & Billies combo!

Best bet would be to find one of each in your area and go for a ride with another D2 forum member.

Good luck.

Default Are those GY F1 tires? If so how do you like them on the S8?

On my S6 avant, I also have bilstein eibach combo and like it very much. Also run F1's and really love them.

Default How much for these kits including labor (independent mechanic rates)?

I figure that I need to replace struts and shock in the next year or so: might as well have one of those installed.

Default Around $300 for the springs. Local labor costs ???

Depending on where you're located, I'd guess anywhere from $300 to $500 for installation and alignment.

Default Love the F1 GSD3's! The grip is phenomenal.

and the wet weather traction is beyond compare. It's actually an A8 with 2005 18" S4 wheels.
