Blower resistor, location and replacement

My resistor is out. Any one guide me on where it is and how to replace it? Thanks!

My '97 wiring diagram doesn't show a fresh air blower resistor; it shows a control module, J126, in plenum, inside A/C housing, to right of fresh air blower V2. Under the hood, back near the firewall

There is a coolant fan set of resistors hanging out in free air behind the front left tire.

How do you know your blower resistor is out? Did you check the fuse?

The fan will run then not. Increases with right hand turn. WTF....

sounds like a worn out fan motor, the brushes are toast.

Replacement

How much of a PITA is it to replace? I'm pretty DIY.

Wrong forum. You have a D3 model. But I'm in agreement with those who have speculated that your motor brushes are toast.

Thank you. Is it a huge pain to replace? On my make/model it is located under the hood, between the wiper arms, correct?

That's a good question for the D3 forum, for your specific version of the A8. Up one level and then back down into the D3 rather than D2 fourm.
