Default Brakeblock bend strut brace

Hi,

The other day i noticed that the strut brace (the top-side bar between the two front wheels) in my 2001 A8 was slightly bend where the brakeblock pushes against it.
It's very slight and not a problem i guess.

It won't bend back (straight) anymore because the brace is made of aluminium.

Kind of illustrates the forces involved during hard braking :-)

I guess it kind of defeates the purpose of the block somewhat. Making my brakeblock slightly thicker now will only result the strutt bending even more.

No honestly. I can't imagine i'm the only one. You need to take the brake-reservoir-cover off to see

Default I had the same concern before/during/after install but repeated flexing of the firewall...

cannot be good for it either. Suppose it is a tradeoff.

Default I agree with you and I think the tradeoff is good because its a 5 minute thing to replace the brace.

But did you notice damage to the brace too?
