No,
the oil flowed down onto the exhaust system where it took fire.

I have been reading through your thread too, with help from translator of course. Thanks for sharing such detailed description and photos of your build. It's a wonderful source of information and it's really freaking awesome. Looking forward to the rebuilt monster ! Keep up the good work!

Thats what I meant.... Its so hot in that turbo/exhaust area the oil actually caught fire.

Yes that's why exhaust wrap have to cope with temperatures up to 1000°C = 1800°F

If you run hard with your turbo car at night so you can see how it glow on the turbo and exhaust manifold so anything can catch fire if it comes in contact.
