Default can anyone on Long Island please scan my S8 with their VAGCOM

I would just like to know if there are any codes stored. I live in South Amityville. I dont want to pay over $100 for Audi to do it, when I can throw one of your guys $20....

I am free this Saturday morning. Or Sunday evening.

Thx

Ross Tech's free download of VCDS-Lite (VagCom) will read all error codes in all modules. You can even recode your transmission, remote locking, etc with it...I have.

>>>

All that's needed is a computer and an OBD2 cable. I use one like this >>>

$10 with free shipping >>>

Check out http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm

I have one and it works well. Reads and clears codes - even ones that are pending and haven't tripped the CEL. Shows trip functions and fuel usage as you drive.

Thanks Silver. I just purchased the cable on eBay. The auction comes with a disc as well. I guess that's for the drivers? Has anyone tried this cable/interface with Windows 7? Vag-Com-lite claims to be Win7 friendly, but the cable isn't...

I've got Windows Vista and it worked right away, no problem. Don't know about W-7...I understand it has an all new set of compatibility problems like Vista did at first...I blame it all on software writers, NOT Microsoft. The programming parameters are available and just need to be followed.

good news. I got my $10 eBay cable to work, found the code, and fixed the problem (problem was in the drivers rear airbag connecter - code was for low resistance). I replaced the connector, cleared the code, and voila - no more AIRBAG light. Thanks all for your help!!!
