Car Wash...
With the rainy weather in the Bay Area on hold at least for a few days, I am planning on spending time washing, buffing and waxing my car.
Y'all remember that I just bought this black beauty and the body is a swirl-remover's heaven.

Re: Car Wash...
I would start with a wash and clay bar it, then depending on the stuff you use (I use Adams Polishes) wash it again, and then start with a swirl, haze and oxidation removing compound and pad. (Adams has swirl and haze remover) Then move your way up to the polishing pad and then to the machine wax. Just make sure you use a random orbital buffer, with high quality compounds like Griots, Adams, or many others. (Generally Meguiars won't cut it!) Then just get a really high loft polishing microfiber towel and take it all off. Black is a tough color, but it looks excellent when properly care for.
Good Luck!

There is a Detailer's Forum here on AW, and ...
... those people could tell you 7 different ways to use a Q-Tip to remove curb rash from your wheels.
Look there for all the good advice.

I did the "Never wax again" treatment
I had a professional detailer I know and trust do a treatment branded RoyalShine over here. He claims it's the best thing since sliced bread.
This treatment utilizes the PPS technology, (US patent 5081171). Treatments and products utilizing this are sold under various brands around the world, like 5 Star Shine, Shine 'N Shield and Liquid Glass.
It's only a couple of months since I did it, so the long term effect is yet to be proven. It comes with a 6 year warranty when re-treated within 18 months.
So far it's the best thing I ever did to my paint. It's now extremely easy to clean, and gets the shine right back after cleaning. The treatment withstands degreasers, UV rays and the "winter coctail" of salt, asphalt, rubber dust and such. I just apply soap/degreaser foam and clean it off using a high pressure cleaner. Looks like it came right out of the detailers shop afterwards. Amazing.
