Chattering wiper arms
This must be my week to baby my 02--S8. Oil change etc.
I too have the noisy wipers. Did a forum search--and found one guy's solution---Pep Boys "pro line" blades--but can't find them on their web site. Bosch was mentioned----Anyone retroed into the Bosch replacement arms/blades?------If so---which model numbers (belive driver side is 22" and passenger s/b 21"---but not sure). I'm sure this post is redundant---so, sorry. |
I did put Bosch 22" on both side. I bought it at Autozone $12.99.

Tire Rack has original style blades .. one curved and one with The Wing
|
Do you have <50K mi? If so, they are free at the dealer.
|
I've had Bosch for about 2 1/2 years now and its time for new ones.
Been very happy with them and for me, thats the only kind I've used in a long time. Think I'm using 22" driver abd 21" passenger.

while you're at it...
Ask the dealer to 'align' the wipers. Seriously. They have a tool that will align the wipers to the proper angle. Whenever mine chatter, I take it in and afterwards the wipers run smooth and chatter-free.
|
You are on it beav..
the wiper blade angle is crucial to eliminate chatter. The blade must change angles depending on direction they travel. The blade edge needs to be pulled not pushed over the glass.
|
that was me. Maybe they don't carry them anymore. I still have mine on after about 6 mos - perfect

Re: while you're at it...
So, it sounds like even after alignment--they chatter at some point again?
I'd like a permanent fix---getting apts at Audi around here is tough--I save the hassel for the warranty tune ups. |
Re: I've had Bosch for about 2 1/2 years now and its time for new ones.
So, they fixed the chatter for 2 plus years?
Which Bosch model numbers?---If they're the fix--I'd do 'em. |
