Default Check out the interior on this 2003 S8 ...

I thought the Avus silver color on the 2003 S8 came with burgundy or Bourdeaux interior and gray wood trim. This car seems to have the vavona wood trim. Do you think it came from the factory this way? I am not a fan of gray wood trim, but I think for this interior, it would have worked better. I love the Avus silver exterior color but the burgundy color seats and door panels don't look very good in pictures. My favorite is the caramel interior.

2003 silver S8 on ebay

Default I would have to find someone with a black interior to swap with, but I love the avus silver.

I agree, the wood doesn't look quite right there.

Default You have to see it in person

The interior color is like a fine wine, it is incredible.

I would rather have this wood than the darker wood, they came both ways from the factory in 03 like this.

Default Was every single A8 and S8 wood interior, or did they have other, albeit rare, options?

Also, I have been wondering if it was real wood or woodgrain plastic.

TIA

McGrath Audi has an Asus Silver with the gray wood trim. It looked better than I thought it would, but not enough to sway me from the black caramel (which I ended up with) or the blue platinum. Gray probably goes better with the burgundy.

Maybe I am wrong, but seems the silvers are slower selling and sells for slightly less than the blue/black ones.

Love those interiors - terrible thing to say, but one of the major reasons for me to get an 03.

Default Love that red leather. The owner must have thought: "My CEL is on!! I am getting a Bentley!"

Pretty funny to advertise a car and show a picture of the odometer with the check engine light on.

Default You could get carbon fiber, but not in the US

And the wood is real, it's a veneir.

Default Confused on the two wood trim options

I unil recently thought there was only one wood trim option, but found somewhere there was a choice of two - the gray, similar to the one of previous years, and what I thought was burled walnut (the one you typically one you see on the 03s).

On an audi press release for '03 they noted the the choices to be Birch or Sycamore. However, I have also seen birds-eye maple listed, and the burled walnit. Is Sycamore the same as wallnut?

I'm confused :-(

Default Re: Confused on the two wood trim options

Looking through older posts, I guess the choices for 03 was Amber Polished Sycamore (formerly Vavona), or the Gray Polished Birch. Almost all cars I have seen have the Sycamore.
