Default Chrome dreams...

I wonder if it's possible to add the chrome trim found on the facelift A8 to a pre-facelift 1998 A8?

I don't really see why not. I'm just browsing through ETKA right now and it looks like the part just sticks on (?) or may have some sort of channel/indent that it fits into (and is subsequently glued).

I'm referring to the chrome around the rear bumper, as well as the trim around the headlights.

Thanks!!!

I don't know if they would fit but those dreams are not cheap to be sure.

Yes!

Can you elaborate on where/how you got those pieces? I like what you've done with the additional chrome trim on the bumper, as well.

Alex.

Yep. Looks good.

Any details on what you did to fit the pieces on there?

Have to ask as well - What is your opinion on the LLTek cold air intake? I remember reading once that it would be worthless to put an intake on this car, but I find that hard to believe. I'm not expecting 20HP here, but it would certainly be beneficial if I were to chip my car, no?

Default If you have the money to throw on a chip, go right ahead...

I think the chips are upwards of $500 for maybe 10+ hp.

Default I just used a roll of chrome stripping that I found at Advanced Auto...

It came in a roll and has 3M tape on the back. You just need to cut the ends to a round or point and stick it in the grooves on the bumpers. I used the same to do my lower grille. One piece for the "smile" and one for the straight top.
