Default The correct fog light bulb for a pre-facelift A8 is an H3-55W.

I believe there is an H3-100W, is this a stronger bulb?
If I use the 100W what are the pros and cons?

Default I've never seen 100. Link?

I use the 55, bought some h3-st sylvania's off of ebay for about 24 bucks. Small but noticable difference.

Default with 100w you may slowly fry the wiring and harness with the heat.

other choices would be better 55w bulbs like the piaa's or 3000k(yellow) hids look sweet. My brother has them in his fogs on his lexus and they look very sharp and contrast the hids really well.

Default ^^^What he said^^^!! The extra current draw (and extra heat associated with it)......

will likely fry your electrical system (switches and relays are the most likely points of failure) either immediately or a slow death by cooking. The only way to go to a 100W bulb would be to run a separate (correctly sized) wiring harness to the higher wattage bulb (run off of a relay). Even then the extra heat created by the bulb may melt the reflector in the headlamp housing (they are plastic).

Default 100W is only 8 Amps so I would say the relays will be OK....

But the wires will get hot. Not so much from the extra current (even a 22 gauge wire can do 15A or so), but from conduction of the extreme lamp heat down the copper strands.

And we had someone in here last year that melted his reverse lights with a high power bulb.
