I got nailed by an oncoming rock from a damn cement truck Looks like I'll have to get the entire windshiled replaced - left about a 6" crack (so far).

Anyway, when I bought the car my dealer threw in a 3rd party Glass replacement policy which covers full replacement. The only thing is they don't use OEM glass. Is there going to be THAT much difference?

It's an 03 A8.

don't replace with shielded glass (warm weather package) if you want your radar detector to work properley....

But DO replace it with shielded glass if you live in a warm climate and apprecaite being able to actually grasp the steering wheel (without leaving skin) after the car's been sitting in the parking lot a few hours!

2nd. Get a remote radar if you are worried about radar performance. I LOVE my SRX.

Had the windshield replaced at the dealer with OEM; total cost: $520.
