Custom Double Din unit in PFL D2?
Upgrading the stereo, want to utilize the double din navigation options. For my 1999 D2 the Original part #s for the PFL Double Din - Rare -
Part #
*4D0 857 007 E - Center Console Bracket
*4D1 820 325 H - Center Console Faceplate (If a color code is required, the local Audi dealer states to use IWV - vehicle specific)
4D0 820 547 A - HVAC Hose
Since these are hard (*nearly impossible) to find, anyone custom match a wood grain to house the Double Din Navigation and HVAC? Searching on google & this forum have not found any for the PFL. With the FL dash it looks pretty easy, the PFL seems to be a challenge.
Type of wood and stain color ? or Fiberglass molding then ... airbrush woodgrain or vinyl wrap?

I am working on something similar. There is a new-ish process called Hydrographics. I am going to mold a double din unit with fiber class so the new radio sits flush and then send it to a company like this to "dip" it.

That is amazing! Have to do some research on that and see how it holds up to wear.
Think my first attempt will be actual wood. Will update soon.
