Cylinder Numbering & Spark Plug Question
Just making sure before replacing a couple ignition coils.
Passenger side front to rear: 1-2-3-4
Drivers side front to rear: 5-6-7-8
Also, had a mechanic tell me today that the Bosch Platinum +4s aren't so good for the Audi V8s and to use the Bosch Supers (four electrode).
Any thoughts on this?

I would use what Audi recommends
But I am conservative. I have always found Audi engines to be very specific to the type of plug used.
I think the cylinder numbers are on the valve covers.

^--2nd what Paul said. Sometimes the engines can be pretty finnicky with different spark plugs.
Also, cyl #'s should also be on a sticker/tag on the wires connecting to the coil packs, if you can't find them on the valve covers.

Re: I got mine from Autohausaz.com. I believe they were platinum +4's (OEM plugs).
I am putting Platinum 4's and new O2 pre-cat sensors today on 98 A8 Q 4.2L. Audipages recommend 22 lb/ft of torque for plugs but no anti-sieze. I am getting mixed answers on whether to use anti-sieze or not on plugs. Any thoughts?
