From the pics it would seem cleaner to do the soldering inside the module. I haven't been able to get at mine yet; I think those pics were from a pre-FL car; my car doesn't have a removable side panel (there's an AC duct there).
From what I read, the 12v supply comes from the wire that you solder across the pins.

Pretty extreme but looks great.
I'm toying around with the idea of mounting my rear 20x10 up front and mounting a 20x11 out back but don't want to deal with to much fender pulling for the front. I know the rears will accommodate 20x11 though with just enough camber.
I hit you up a while ago about wheel clearance on either facebook or another forum but no response. But I managed anyway.
