Default Damn the Germans-after switching to an iItalian car

my first issue was -----you guessed it a german component..Bosch mass air flow meter was just out of spec causing a rough idle and flat spot above 5000 rpm-new unit and $430 poorer the car is again a weapon

Oh well, an Italian made airflow-meter would have failed in the first week ;-)

Those AFMs can be fixed for free pretty easily, if not too late try a search.

Default How did you fix it?

I cleaned the AFM on my wife's range rover with the wrong stuff and killed it. Bought a replacement "cartridge" (meter only-no housing) and it crapped out after 6 weeks. Finally bit the bullet and bought a new one. Since we have 6 bosch injected cars in the family, the odds that another afm's going to crap out. I'd like to know how to fix it!

Default I sprayed it with Isopropyl alcohol and ran a rag carefully through

the vent-then took it to a sparky for flow testing
