Default dead battery

Why would the little lights that illuminate the window controls and the inside door handles not go out? they stay on and drain the battery dead, very frustrating. Also, the switch that controls the shifter between auto and manual shifting seems to be failing, the trans will switch to manual shift mode all by itself,I have to click it into nuetral then back into drive to reset it back to full auto,my question would be,is the switch easy to replace or is it something I need a tech to do?

Are all your door switches working correctly?

I had this same problem and have "resolved" it by putting a relay in the fuse block tied to the ignition. The problem is that my clock and trip odometer are also now off when the key is off and restart everytime I start the car. If you find the culprit more specifically please let me know as I would love to get my clock working again! I just haven't had time to trace it any farther.

Thanks,
Chris
