Tranny option?
Just wondering. I own a 2005 D3 which I was just about to drive to the junk yard due to a bad head gasket (165,000 miles). Do D3 trannys work in D2's? Salvage yard is not excited about the car- they say they have no demand for A8 parts.

Nope. The D3 tranny is a 6 speed and the D2 is a 5 speed. Of course the junk yard would say that. They're trying to low ball you. What are they offering you, around $500? The junk yard could sell the rims and almost cover the cost of their purchase. Depending where you live, Shokan might be a better option because they are an Audi junk yard.
