Engine Error Code (Cylinder 7 Misfire)
Hey guys,
So I got in my 97 4.2Q to go to the store today and when I started it, I noticed an engine error light on the VDO. So I Vag'ed and this is what I got...
16500 (P0116) Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range/Performance
INTERMITTENT
16684 (P0300) Random Misfire Detected
INTERMITTENT
16691 (P0307) Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected
INTERMITTENT
16684 (P0300) Random Misfire Detected
INTERMITTENT
16691 (P0307) Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected
INTERMITTENT
So should I just erase the codes and see if it happens again, or is there something I can do? I would imagine a cylinder misfire is not good at all. The sparkplugs were replaced recently with Denso Iridiums. I dont know what else would cause this unless the coil is going bad or injector problems. SO what should I do,
Also I noticed some codes in the central locking system...
1367- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1371- ------- Alarm via door contact switch driver side
_
1372- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1374- ------- Alarm via terminal 15
_
1370- ------- Alarm via interior scanning
_
1369- ------- Alarm via bonnet switch
_
1368- ------- Alarm via luggage compartment switch
_
1373- ------- Alarm via radio ground terminal
_
1366- ------- Opened via crash signal
_
1361- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1360- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1362- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1363- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1364- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1365- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
1365- ----------Unknown Trouble Code
Any Ideas? I know this is alot!!
Thanks again guys... In advance.

Re: Erase codes, pour in a bottle of Chevron with Techron Fuel Injection cleaner and wait and see...
I run BG's 44k about every 5000 miles. I read some of PaulW old posts and he said maybe it could be a coilpack, and to switch and see if the cylinder misfire changed. Can I just erase them without fixing anything? Any ideas with all the DTC's from alarm issues?
Thanks
Thanks
