Experience with Luxury Motors (largest internet car sales firm)
Does anyone have any experience with Luxury Motors? Supposedly they are the internet's largest luxury car dealer.
I called to inquire about a 2003 S8 on their website (considering trading my 2002A8L up for the S). They offer a virtual tour of the car and sight unseen will trade me for the A8L.
I don't quite feel comfortable with the virtual tour concept.
Has any A8/S8 owner on this list used Luxury Motors?
Thanks,
Tom

I have, they are your basic used car dealer
An 03 S8 would be down on their list of cars.....they have HUGE amounts of inventory and most of it is really costly.
I bought my business partner's A8 there years ago, they promised some things, but after we paid, they didn't give them.
It was little things like a second key, floor mats, etc. About $250 worth on a car that was $32,500.00.
They are real hard ball players.
If you are really serious about buying the car, I'll go look at it for you.

I haven't heard anything good...
A couple friends have gone there and have been treated like crap. Sales people were really rude and will NOT deal on price. I also have a couple friends in the car business and they don't like dealing with them either.
Their goal is to buy every car in the line up so you HAVE to go to them to buy it...hence they will not discount and basically tell you take it or leave it.
I stopped by my local dealer the other day and they said they were seeing a bunch of 03's come off leases, etc...so if you wait a little, you may find one through Audi (then you'd get CPO).
just my .02

Re: I have, they are your basic used car dealer
Thank you Paul. I have noticed that Luxury Motors seems to obtain quite a few S8's. Anyway, they currently have one and are asking $38,000 for a car with around 50K miles.
I just purchased my 2002A8L 5 weeks ago. As you had said earlier, I should give it awhile to get used to. I really loved my 95'S6, and am still kicking myself for trading it in. I am liking the A8 more as time goes on, but wish I had bought an S8.
I will give it a few more months. Thank you for offering to look at the S8. Maybe in the spring I will make the move. I may rent Ronin, to obtain a virtual drive experience of the S8 in the meantime.

Re: I have, they are your nightmare dealer
If the '03 is priced for $ 38,995.00 with 49,350 miles, then the VIN should be WAUGU44D9N001921, which is the S8 that I checked out last Thursday to purchase.
It drives OK, BUT there is a lot of corrosion on the lower front end, such as hose fittings, support brackets, etc. - Not a good sign. Check where it came from (very salty winters or the bottom of the ocean ?). Also, there was a shipment of cars damaged on route from Germany; some of those cars were donated to High Schools - not to be resold, others made their way through the system anyway (these cars require a full 100% strip down, especialy electrical systems).
Luxury Motors was 'advertising' this car through their Bentley Dealership, so I expected only the best and not this car. Never seen anything like their methods it in my life, and I have been buying cars for over 45 years.
PS. I am looking for a 'one owner cream puff' S8 '01 - '03.
