Factory Navigation
There is no info on the factory navigation system, so i assume the car originally came with a separate user manual.
Bentley doesn't is the factory nav system worth keeping?
I'm used to Garmins and Tom Toms along with MS Streets and Trips with the puck... I have the feeling that time has passed the factory system by, and if so I'll strip it out when I changer the audio system.
I wouldn't mind clearing out the left side compartment of its changers for a corner loaded sub.
Also, is there a benefit to any part of the factory telephone system? My new HU will allow for iPod and Bluetooth integration, so i doubt there is anything left I would need of it, but I'm certainly willing to listen.
the phone system can be used for its speaker and radio mute, but again, bluetooth systems have kind of passed it by. but lots of people integrate theior phones using components of the factory system and it works well.
if you want a tomtom, i posted on another forum that i have a few xl 330 systems, brand new in the box, left from a closeout i bought. $95 delivered anywhere in 48 states. best price for new unit (not refurbished) on web that i found was $128 plus S&H.

And I don't find the center display at all useful when the sun is up- polarized sunglasses interfere with viewing.
I have all the parts and pieces to upgrade (other than fabbing a fiberglass enclosure for a corner loaded sub), but with my crazy schedule, there's no telling when I'll be able to wedge this project in. Hopefully some time this summer before it really heats up. I was really hoping to have the time to get the audio install completed for an upcoming mobile audio meet in a few weeks, but that's not gonna happen.

I'm going to look into modifying the existing factory GPS puck for use with aftermarket nav, and if I can somehow wedge both the nav and XM in there, that will be nice.
