Luckily, I have had no problems with my A8. All my experiences are with repairing emissions and MIL problems with customers cars. The reason why emissions readiness is there is that anyone can clear codes and then go run an emisions test. So to prevent this from happening, the ECM has to see a certaim amount of duty cycles or miles. We have run into this problem after we changed ECMs. Most domestics have to be driven about 75 miles to get emissions system ready for inspection.

Like I posted before, there are numerous P codes that will not trigger a MIL but will fail your emissions test.

What do you clear exactly before an emissions test? Which blocks?

What is the flag that you refer to resetting? I am open to learn here, but don't see it in the bentley.
