Default Found a S8 at a local dealer but needs work.. how bad is the work?

hey guys

ill jump right into it guys , ive been looking for a local S8 in NJ for about 4 months now. Ive commited myself to saying if i found a low enough mileage S8 i would go ahead and jump the gun and buy a S8

now ive finally found one BUT it needs work but i dont know anything on its repairs ..

http://www.bellaudi.com/used/Audi/20...625515436f.htm

this S8 needs work and is overpriced BUT if i was to buy that S8 am i in to deep with the repairs? you guys knows this S8 better than i do .. you own the car i only admire it

should i pass? let me be honest im not a bull**** person who sais something to bring attention i really want this car but the work required i dont like

is it major work? i dont really like buying a 2001 i always wanted atleast an 02 .. what year the the audi space frame introduced was it the d3?

1st: No way of knowing from that ad what work it needs.
The talk of rain drain overflowing doesn't explain the car "needing to be towed of the lot...as a fixer upper", just because the "customer stated" it !!

Beware of ANY car seller who says they don't know what work it needs...They know.

Do NOT even consider it unless an independent REAL mechanic checks it out, to determine what work it needs...could be just a few hundred dollars (I doubt it) or several thousand for trans work.

ALL Audi A8's and S8's have the aluminum space from...from 1997 to present in the USA...earlier in Europe.

I agree.

If you like black, how about this one below? Average mileage, but rebuilt tranny, new ABS module, fuel injectors, & more...

It’s an Audi Dealer. Not only they know exactly what’s wrong with it but they concluded that it is not economically possible to put this car back on the road.

If water leaked in the car and it sat for a while you will have corroded electronics and other scary problems to deal with...

Did you ask for a recent list of fault codes?

i agree , that price is way to much especially when a audi dealership themself is saying tow it off the lot we dont know the problems in this... well than for that it should be a negotiated price of 9 grand i find fair.. atleast if its a couple grand in work your not getting screwed

as for the audi you showed me its to far my friend.. although its very nice and nice to look at its too far

how are these cars with reliability/ besides trnsmissions being a issue
