hello all,
I have a A8 2001,Few days back i have noticed that the fuel guage on the dash is moving up and down when ever it does that the dash board kms are changing from 140 km to 100 km then to 140 km .then i knew that some thing is wrong .Today morning when i have started the car the fuel guage is not moving and the dash shows 0 kms. .

What could have gone wrong /or need to be checked .please help .
I have already put one gallon of fuel in to it still not moving .

Please help .

It's a complex system, with 2 senders (saddle tank) that average their readings together before sending info to the gauge.

It's got all the electrical test and replacement procedures for the fuel level senders.

I would start with unplug-replug the instrument cluster back connectuions.
