Gabor, I'm going to be away this week and doing a little "Bentley" reading so I can tackle my wife's
car when I get back. Anyway, I pulled the code again and it's:
17114
P0730
"Gear ratio monitoring - incorrect gear ratio"
So that got me thinking about the output speed connector that broke when I pulled the old tranny out. I repaired the connector and and it seemed fine.
The wire go up into a harness on the pass side firewall. I tugged on the wires a little to see if they were broken and they felt ok but maybe (hopefully) they were partially severed and separated after driving for a while.
Am I grasping at straws or does the "gear ratio monitoring" part give me some hope?
I'll run through all the tests when I get back.

engine rpm - input speed - output speed - gear. It will show you if you have wiring problem. The input speed is close to the engine rpm. The output speed is linear with the vehicle speed.
